The Ragdoll is a large, floppy cat who loves people.
They are sometimes called puppy cats because of their habits of following their humans around, fetching and retrieving toys, and greeting people at the door.
They have a tendency to go limp in your arms when held, or flop right in front of you when you are walking!
They can usually be found underfoot, near their humans or in their laps. Ragdolls are gentle, good natured and loving.
They are one of the largest domestic breeds of cats, males can reach 12-20+ pounds, females 8-15 pounds.
Born white/light cream, color starts to appear at about 1 week of age. Full color and size is realized at between 2-4 years of age.
Ragdolls are a pointed breed and always have blue eyes.
The Ragdoll is generally considered to be a low maintenance and low shedding cat with a semi long coat which sometimes feels as soft as bunny fur.
While many say they are too heavy to make it up onto the kitchen counter to “graze” this is not true, many certainly can make that jump!
This breed is great with children, elders, special needs humans, everyone really.
